APPLE VALLEY, Minn. — A new indoor pickleball and entertainment facility under construction in Apple Valley is targeting a December opening after experiencing construction delays.

On October 22, 2026 during an Apple Valley City Council meeting, Randy Motilall, owner of Picklehall provided an update on the project, which has been under construction since January.

Motilall said the building is nearly fully enclosed, with exterior glass now installed. However, delays involving construction materials and unexpected complications have pushed back progress.

Despite the setbacks, the project continues to move forward. Installation of the pickleball courts is expected within approximately a month, and all vendors for the facility's food hall have been secured.

Picklehall plans to offer more than just pickleball, featuring food and beverage options intended to attract players and nonplayers alike.

The facility is hoping to open in December, although an official opening date has not been announced.

"If we can open in December, we're going to take those couple weeks to work out our bugs and then get everybody ready to go for 2027," Motilall told council members.

Organized leagues and tournaments are expected to begin in January 2027. Membership information is already available on the facility's website, picklehallmn.com, although specific league and tournament dates have not been released.

During the same meeting, the City Council unanimously approved an on-sale intoxicating liquor license and a special Sunday liquor sales license for Picklehall.

The approval marks another step toward opening the new entertainment destination in Apple Valley.
